“I contacted Clare because having reached mid 40s it had finally become apparent I couldn’t out train a bad diet and so in order not to put weight on I needed to eat differently. Plus I was suffering many typical perimenopausal symptoms - very heavy periods, nausea, night sweats, fatigue etc. I am into exercise and have always had nutritional plans thrust into my hand by hopeful PTs, but what sets Clare apart is she really listened to what I needed, and also what I had capacity for in terms of making changes. So, as I am a busy working mum of 2 young children, she didn’t completely overhaul what I was eating or tell me to make complicated nutritional meals and therefore make it seem impossible to stick to. Instead, she made some achievable suggestions of what to increase and what to decrease in what I was already eating, as well as provided me with easy ideas for how to incorporate more of the vitamins and minerals I was lacking in my diet, such as tweaking the recipes for smoothies I was already making. This means that in the main, I have stuck to much of what we discussed. I’ve been able to feel the full impact physically, and then been able to build on that foundation and continue to move in a positive direction with my nutrition.

“I benefited greatly from working alongside Clare for a couple of sessions last year. Clare is an excellent listener, who shows empathy and wants to know the full background of health issues in order to help her client move forward. When I reflected on the first session, I realised that no-one had ever asked me before about my childhood and how that affected my gut health. I can remember having digestive issues when I was at primary school, and these became more acute as I got older. I have IBS, diagnosed by my GP, and followed up by a couple of tests. Clare has the time to go into the specific issues and concerns around this, and to suggest eating patterns and supplements that can alleviate the more unpleasant symptoms such as bloating and acute abdominal pain. Over the years I have been under acute stress in my life, and this certainly has had an effect on gut health. A change of diet and a change of country can be difficult too. I now have the necessary tools to enable me to live a more balanced life, with far less pain, and almost no reliance on over the counter medication. This is indeed life changing and I am deeply grateful to Clare for her wisdom and kindness..”
